Obituary

Terry Dyrdal of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at his home at the age of 63.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the Heritage Center, 301 4 th St. E, Thief River Falls, MN.  There will be a sharing of memories at 2:00 PM.  All are encouraged to participate.  Please join Terry's family after 4:00 PM at the Legion in Thief River Falls.

Terry Lynn Dyrdal was born on September 7, 1958 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Nels and Helen (Stigen) Dyrdal.  He was raised and made his home in Thief River Falls.  Terry graduated from Lincoln High School in 1977.

Terry was a dedicated employee at Arctic Cat for 35 years.

Terry loved old cars, car shows, racing and working on them, wasted vacation for the Minnesota Vikings, and listening to old school records.  He enjoyed Sunday drives, always taking the scenic route.  Terry loved all animals, particularly Molly and tolerated Muffin – Ha! Ha!

Things Terry loved in life included his nephews and nieces, his little moped scooter, yardwork, tinkering in the garage (man cave), and family celebrations.  His favorite time of the year was with his great-nieces Bree and Brylee, trick-or-treating.  Another favorite pastime was weekends with Shelley and Scarlett (Peanut).

Terry is survived by his lifelong partner of 32 years, Shelley Legg of Thief River Falls, MN; Shelley's family - daughters Jo (Doug) Williams of Thief River Falls, MN and Christy (Rob) Shirley of McKinney, TX, grandchildren Craig (Rachel) Williams, Cayler Williams, and Logan Williams, Dylan Reed, Ely Reed, Nathan Reed, and Taylor Reed, and great-granddaughter, Scarlett "Peanut" Williams; sister, Susie (Jim) Sonnenfeld of Winona, MN; aunts, Doris Borgen of Washington and Louise McLean of Thief River Falls, MN; sister-in-law, Linda (Dyrdal) Donaldson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great great-nieces, great great-nephews, cousins, relatives, and Legion family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roger Sr., and Lloyd; nephews, Roger Jr., Jamie, and Jason; great-niece, Marissa; great-nephew, Michael; brother-in-law, Orville.
