Terry Olson, 61, died on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Golv and Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will follow in St. Pauli Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at the church.

Terry Alan Olson was born on November 19, 1949 to E. C. Ole. and Betty A. Susy (Sorenson) Olson in Thief River Falls, MN. He grew up in Newfolden until the third grade when his family moved to Thief River Falls. He was baptized January 15, 1950 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church on October 18, 1964. He attended school in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967.

Terry served his country in the US Airforce from 1969 to 1973. He was stationed in Grand Forks and also in Okinawa, Japan. He returned home to Thief River Falls and worked at Holiday Station and Car Quest for many years. He was married to Pamela Schweitzer and to this union a son Jeremy was born. He was united in marriage to LaDawn Rude on November 4, 1988 and they have lived in Thief River Falls all of their married life. Terry has worked at Arctic Cat since 1995.

Terry was a sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed hockey. He also enjoyed camping and fishing, but his most favorite time was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, American Legion Post #117, and served as President of the Blue Line Club.

Terry is survived by his wife LaDawn, Thief River Falls, 4 children: Jeremy (Danielle) Olson, Bemidji, MN, Tami (Larry) LePier, Fosston, MN, Chad (Sara) Kleinvachter, East Grand Forks, MN and Brent Kleinvachter, Sauk Rapids, MN, 8 grandchildren, Braden, Kennedy, and Cierra Olson, Marissa and Brock Hemmesch, and Gracie, Tait, and Ava Kleinvachter, mother Betty A. Suzy Olson, Thief River Falls, MN, brother Bruce Buzz Olson, East Grand Forks, MN, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father E.C. Olson, grandson Corbin Olson, sister in law Nancy Olson.
