Thelma Bakke, 88, of Thief River Falls, MN, formerly of Burlington, ND passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Minnesota Greenleaf in Thief River Falls, MN surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 19, 2020 at Christ Lutheran Church in Lignite, ND with Pastor Janet Gwin officiating. Burial will be held at Lignite Cemetery, Lignite, ND.

Thelma Muriel Bakke was born on April 16, 1932 in Kenmare Hospital in Kenmare, ND the daughter of Lewis and Bessie (Lee) Bakke. She was raised in rural Lignite, ND, attending and graduating from Lignite Public School. Thelma worked in Easton Drug Store, Crosby, ND from 1952 until she married John and moved to the Minot, ND area.

In 1961, Thelma was united in marriage to John Morris Bakke. The couple built their house in Burlington, ND, and lived there for nearly 50 years. Thelma was a homemaker, ran a daycare for many years, caretaker of elderly, and would do housework for others.

Thelma liked to do crafts, visit garage sales, but most of all she loved the years she had camping and fishing with her loving husband John.

Survivors include her Son, Jerome (Susan) Bakke; granddaughter, Emily(Bakke) Knutson; and great grandson, Raiden Knutson all of Thief River Falls, MN area; and a sister, Mildred Berg, Williston, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; siblings, Lawrence, Arnold, Orine, and Lucille; and infant daughter Toni Bakke.
