Theodore Ted Hegtvedt, 98, died on Monday, March 24, 2008 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Monsignor Timothy McGee presiding. Burial will be in St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Theodore Ted Gramps Hegtvedt was born on September 18, 1909 in Goodridge, MN, the son of Torjie and Tjodvore (Utabjaa) Hegtvedt. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in Goodridge.

Ted was united in marriage to Margaret OHara Amundson on February 14, 1948. Ted was a grain farmer for many years and during the winters he worked for OHara Ice Company. Ted enjoyed farming and going out to the casino, his favorite games to play were Boom and Jackpot Party.

Ted is survived by three children: Sharon (Lyle) Johnson, Joni Jones, and Roger (Carol) Amundson, all of Thief River Falls, MN; daughter-in-law, Chris Broeker-Hegtvedt of Park Rapids, MN; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and one sister, Inga Honeywell of Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; son, Mark; son-in-law, L. L. Jones; two grandchildren: Chad Anthony Hegtvedt and Peggy Lynn Wahlbeck; one great granddaughter, Brandy Lee Brown; brothers: Knute, Charles, Carl, Ole, and Henry; and sisters: Tilda, Signe and Clara.
