Theodore Hamm Jr. of Gonvick, MN passed away on January 27, 2018 at his home in Gonvick, MN.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM in Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with Reverend Christy Shellinbarger  Officiating. Burial will be held at Highlanding Cemetery in the spring.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Theodore William Hamm Jr. was born October 31, 1939 son of Theodore Sr. and Florence (Rodman) Hamm at Highlanding Township, MN. He was raised and educated in the Highlanding and Goodridge area. He farmed in the Highlanding area for a time.

In September of 1962 he entered the US Army and served for 2 years and was honorable discharged in 1964. He returned to the Oklee area where he worked in the woods, logging for Earl Woods.

In 1966 Theodore was united in marriage to JoAnn Zavoral. The couple made their home in Oklee until the early 90's when he moved to Gonvick, MN. Ted joined the 49ers Union October 1, 1965 as heavy equipment operator, traveling all over the country. He retired from the 49ers Union March 26, 2002.

He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, gopher trapping, fishing, tinkering, attending auctions and playing cards. Most of all he enjoyed the time spent with grandchildren.

Ted is survived by his children David Hamm of  Brooks, MN, Jeffery (Brenda) Hamm of Roseau, MN, Ronald (Tracy) Hamm of Oklee, MN and Lynn Woods of Sandstone, MN; special friend Maxine Sorenson of Gonvick, MN; grandchildren Christopher (Ashley) Hamm, Kayla (Lee) Knutson, Conway Hamm, Jorden (Alison) Hamm, Jarvis Hamm, Jenna Hamm, McKenzie Hamm and Malayna Hamm; great-grandchildren Autumn Kert, Alaina Hamm, Theo Knutson; siblings Donna (Harold) Becker of Wichita, KS, Walter (Jean) Hamm of Wichita, KS, Forrest (Margaret) Hamm of Thief River Falls, MN, Roger (Carol) Hamm of Graham, WA, Irvin Hamm of Goodridge, MN, Gerald Hamm of Warren, MN and Daryl (Kari) Hamm of Oklee, MN, along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Theodore Sr. and Florence Hamm, siblings Louise Hamm, Florence Hamm, Orlando Hamm, Eunice Hamm and Dora Hamm.
