Theodore Stoltman 82 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at his home.

Mass of Christian burial will be 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert Officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Warsaw, ND Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, starting at 5:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Theodore "Ted" Walter Stoltman was born May 9, 1940 in Olso, MN son of Walter and Tessie (Narlock) Stoltman. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olso, MN. He graduated from Olso High School in 1958. He then joined the US Marine Corps right after graduation. He was  very proud to serve his country for 3 years, and he was promoted to Corporal to Sergeant. He was stationed in many parts of the world and honorable discharged in 1961.

On June 7 1962 he was united to Jeannette Slominski at Oakland, CA. To this union 3 children were born James, Roger and Bonnie. He worked for General Cable in Emeryville, CA, later he moved his family to Babbit, MN where he worked for Reserve Mining Company. He them moved to Thief River Falls where the family made their home until the present. He worked at Northland Foods as the Meat cutter, LB Hartz and the Turkey Plant where he retired.

Ted enjoyed fishing and hunting in his earlier days. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, enjoyed listening to country music. He and Jeannette took a trip the Nashville, Memphis and Dolly Wood, and a few other places for their 50 ^th wedding anniversary. Also a trip to Branson, MO which he really enjoyed, they were able to celebrate their 60 ^th wedding anniversary last summer. Ted had a lot of fun impersonating Hank Williams Jr., and playing the harmonica and violin.  He played for the 100 ^th year celebration in Olso parade float and dressed up as Hank and played "Family Tradition".

Ted is survived by his Wife of 60 years Jeannette of Thief River Falls, MN; son Roger of Thief River Falls, MN, daughter Bonnie (Larry) Kraft of Thief River Falls, MN; grandson Brody Kraft of Philadelphia, PA, granddaughter Kylie Kraft (Fiancé Tanner Peterson) of Hermantown, MN; step-grandchildren Levi (Andrea) Kraft, Leslie (Mike) Sedlachek, Laura (Chris) Hocstien; 12 great-grandchildren Margaret, Ross, Maddie, Ciera, Cayden, Chloey, Clara, Carson, Bryson, Trenner, Treyson, Brielle: brother Hilary Stoltman sister Cecilia Stoltman of Thief River Falls, MN; brother-in-law Fred (Marie) Slominski; nephews Steve (Valerie) Stoltman, Chris (JoAnna) Slominski; nieces Dianne Stoltman, Michelle Stoltman, Patricia (Marty) Pluth; grand nephews and nieces, special lifelong friend Ronnie Oas of Warren, MN.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Tessie Stoltman; step father Tony Urbanovich, parent-in-law Matt and Rose Slominski; son James Stoltman; brother-in-law Ardell Slominski, niece Tonya Slominski. Ted loved Jesus very much and through life good times and bad, He turned to him in prayer.
