Thomas Cullen Jr., 66, died on Friday, August 25, 2006 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father John Kleinwachter presiding. Burial will be in the Goodridge Community Cemetery, Goodridge, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service and at the church for one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Thomas James Cullen, Jr. was born on May 19, 1940 at home on the Family Farm near Goodridge, MN in Moylan Township, the son of Thomas William and Leola Margaret (Portwine) Cullen. He was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith and attended school in Goodridge. After school he worked for many area farmers. Tommy was united in marriage to Marilyn Marie Jasnoch on June 25, 1960 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. This union was blessed with four children, Teri, Pam, Cathi and Bill. At the time of their marriage Tommy was working at Kiewels Bottling Company in Thief River Falls. In the early 1960s Tommy worked at Artic Enterprises and helped build some of the first snowmobiles. They started farming in Moylan Township in 1961 and moved from Thief River Falls to Goodridge in 1963. In 1990, he returned to Arctic in the Welding Department.

Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, bowling, camping, and he loved to cook for his family and friends. He was an avid gardener and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved jokes and pulling pranks on his family and friends. Tommy was an excellent mechanic. If he couldnt figure a problem out, he would take a 10 minute nap to figure it out.

Tommy was with the Goodridge Volunteer Fireman for several years and a member of St. Anns Catholic Church in Goodridge.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Goodridge, MN; four children: Teri (Denny) Kjos of Roseau, MN, Pam (Dean) Klaven of Thief River Falls, MN, Cathi (Brad) Blawat of Greenbush, MN and Bill (Kim) Cullen of Goodridge, MN; 14 grandchildren: Travis (Peggy) Klaven and their children, Devon, Cheyenne and Brenden, Bradley (special friend, Kyla) Klaven, Jason (special friend, Ashley) Klaven, Kelsey and Kasey Dimmen, Ashlee (special friend, Garrett) Wilson, Danielle (special friend, Nick) Wilson, Jody Wilson, Trista Rice and her daughter, Presleigh, Alissah (special friend, Matt) Rice and Steven, Chaz, Blake, and Kiley Cullen; special friends, Sherry and Gary Ralph and their children, Josh and Sydney; brothers and sisters: Lauretta (Eddie) Stucy of Goodridge, MN, John (Jan) Cullen of Goodridge, MN, Agnes (Ray) Kuznia of Stephen, MN, Douglas (Virginia) Cullen of Goodridge, MN, Joe Cullen of North Pole, Alaska, and Margaret (Warren) Syverson of Thief River Falls, MN; uncle: Pete (Helen) Cullen of Mesa, AZ; aunt: Goldie; and numerous nieces and nephews..

He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Leola; and one brother: Robert; and nephews: Greg Syverson, Chad Johnson, Victor Jasnoch, Patrick Kuznia and niece: Jenny Cullen.
