Thomas O'Hara III, age 40, of St. Hilaire, MN died on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 near St. Hilaire, MN. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will be held at Pelan Cemetery near Greenbush, MN with Pastor Steve Dahlen officiating. Thomas O'Hara III was born July 4, 1973, son of Thomas Henry and Judy Marlyn (Johnson) O'Hara in Cavalier, ND. He was raised by his grandparents Martin and Jean Johnson and grew up in Greenbush and later Kennedy, MN. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1991. Tom was employed at Steiger Manufacturing and the last few years he was employed by Peterson Farms of Bejou, MN. He was a survivor of Leukemia twice; once in 2008 and in 2011. Tom was the recipient of two donations that procured from Stemcell Research ultimately that saved his life. Tom's greatest love and passion was his daughter Cheyenne and he also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and his dog Jasper. Tom was a gentle man who would help anyone at any time. He was also an amazing artist who had a passion for life. Tom was a jack of all trades. He is survived by his daughter Cheyenne Mavis Grindeland of Goodridge, MN; mother Judy Kalis of Erskine, MN; father Thomas O'Hara of Oregon; sister Michelle (Johnny) Laird of St. Hilaire, MN; brother Robert Lindholm of Alexandria, MN; grandmother Marcella O'Hara of St. Thomas, ND; many aunts uncles and cousins; fiancé Tammy Joseph of St. Hilaire, MN; step children Brittany, Bree, Nikolas and Caitlyn all of St. Hilaire, MN. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents; uncles Bob and Mark; aunt Mary Jean.
