Tilmer Tim Loren Breiland was born on August 6, 1922 in Kratka Township, the son of Andrew Simon and Mable Christine (Olsen) Breiland. He was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church and attended Country School.

On October 18, 1944 he was united in marriage to Goldie Finstad at St. Hilaire, MN.

Tim farmed with his brother, Kenny, on the Breiland and Barzen Farms raising turkeys. In 1956 he took over the Finstad Family Dairy Farm southeast of Thief River Falls, retiring in 1978. He also worked in Milwaukee for one winter in 1950 and for Forsbergs in Thief River Falls.

Tim enjoyed visiting at the casino, hunting, fishing, watching hockey, and pulling the kids on water skies. He loved family, laughter and enjoyed being with people.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Eagles and NFO.

Tim is survived by his special friend, Alice Anderson of Thief River Falls, MN; five children: Carol (Glennis) Iverson of Goodridge, MN, Kathy (Chuck) Carlson of Thief River Falls, MN, Barbara (Clyde) Sorenson of Thief River Falls, MN, Dale (Debbie) Breiland of Lake Bronson, MN and Ron Breiland of Gilbert, AZ; 13 grandchildren: Rick Poppenhagen, Peggy Kezar, Tim Poppenhagen, Wayne Iverson, Ryan Iverson, Todd Carlson, Troy Carlson, Matt Carlson, Sunny Wilde, Carla Schoenberg, Cami Sorenson, Derek Sorenson and Philip Breiland; 9 great grandchildren; one sister: Helen (Paul) Dowden of Carmel, IN; two sisters-in-law, Mae Breiland and Audrey Breiland, both of Thief River Falls, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Clarence and Kenneth; sisters: Thelma Breiland and Evelyn (Vern) Bloom.
