Timothy
Hilde
July 25, 1985 – May 14, 2026
Timothy Hilde, born on July 25, 1985, in Monticello, Minnesota, passed away suddenly on May 14, 2026, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Tim's life was marked by his quiet strength and dedication, both to his country and to the family he cherished deeply.
A proud veteran, Tim served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, embodying a sense of discipline and commitment that permeated every aspect of his life. Though he was known for his reserved nature and gruff exterior, those closest to him recognized Tim as a loving and patient man who held a deep affection for his family.
Tim's love story with Mona DeVilbiss began in a heartfelt ceremony on September 22, 2012, when they were united in marriage at their godparents’ house in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Their bond was a pillar of his life, providing warmth and companionship through the years.
His passions extended beyond his military service and family life. Tim was an avid marksman who enjoyed spending time at the shooting range, and he found great joy in fishing — activities that brought him peace and connection to the outdoors. A master of the grill, he delighted in smoking meats and barbecuing, sharing these good times with those he loved.
Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Mona, of Thief River Falls; his father, Ronald Hilde, of Braham, Minnesota; his brother, Travis Hilde; and his sister, Tina Muse. He was a proud father to his daughters Willamena (Jordan) Grzadzieleski, Anastasia Tate, Alejandra Tate, and Leigha (Dominic) Laughlin, as well as a beloved grandfather to six grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Tim’s mother, Sharon Louise Sarenpa, preceded him in death.
Though Tim preferred to keep his life private, his legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength will be remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him. His sudden passing is deeply mourned, leaving a void in the hearts of his family and friends.
As we reflect on his life, we honor Timothy Hilde as a devoted family man, a committed patriot, and a man who, beneath a guarded exterior, showed an enduring capacity for love and patience. His memory will live on in the stories shared and the lives he touched.
