Timothy Nyland, 53 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at his residence.

A gathering time for family and friends will be held from 12:00 until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Timothy David Nyland was born October 26, 1966 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Roger and Lora (Hanson) Nyland. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. He attended Northrup Elementary School, Franklin Middle School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1985.

Tim was married to Geri Saragosa for ten years and to this union a son, Andrew was born. Andrew was the center of Tim's universe.

During his early years, Tim worked for Erl's Market in Thief River Falls and then worked for many years at Digi-Key in Thief River Falls.

Tim enjoyed all sports including baseball, football, fantasy football and faithfully followed the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, and Timberwolves.  He loved hanging out with Andrew and his Mother. He also enjoyed reading, researching things and loved God.

Tim was a big guy who loved everybody and enjoyed making people laugh. Kids were drawn to his fun, loving, goofy personality.

Survivors include his son, Andrew; nieces & nephews, Tauscha Nyland, Kia Naeseth, Jennifer Mooney, Anthony Nelson, Sam Nelson, Hannah Nyland and Daniel Nyland; mother, Lora Nyland; siblings, Roberta "Bobbi" Nyland, Michael "Mike" (Shelley) Nyland, James "Jim" (Miriam) Nyland and Kathryn "Kathy" (Bill) Rentz; and many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Roger Nyland; grandparents, Andrew & Hazel Hanson and Hans & Ida Nyland.
