Tomas Otto Lauer was born on May 20, 1999 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Chris and Anissa (Hagen) Lauer.  He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking, MN on October 24, 1999 and confirmed at Rindal Lutheran Church near Viking, MN in June 7, 2015.

He attended preschool at St. Bernard's School in Thief River Falls, MN, Viking Elementary and graduated on May 20, 2017 from Marshall County Central High School in Newfolden, MN.  Tomas's favorite class was his Shop Class and working on the little cabin; he was good with his hands and equipment.

Tomas started working at an early age with his father mowing neighbor lawns.  He also worked with various area farmers and at C & M Ford in Roseau, MN.

He loved to take care of and tease his sister, Kari whom he and his brother, Logan lovingly nicknamed "Karl".   In their younger years, Tomas and his brother, Logan were inseparable partners in crime!  From fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, playing, biking, or anything outdoors was a passion for the both of them.  His friends were very important to Tomas, he was always excited to pull somebody out of the ditch, or have a good reason to get out of the house.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, 4-wheeling, and going fast!  Tomas took pride in his Chevy truck "Stacy" and his 1986 Iroc Z28 Chevy Camaro "Molly".  Tomas loved animals and was the primary caretaker of the two family dogs as well as all of the cats who might wander into the yard.

Survivors include his parents, Chris & Anissa; brother, Logan and sister, Kari all of Viking, MN; grandparents, Otto Hagen of Grygla, MN and Arnold (Susie) Lauer of Deer River, MN; aunts and uncles, Connie Hagen, Owen (Diane) Hagen, Julie (Paul) Saurdiff, Jeff (Pam) Hagen, Darwin Hagen, Baryth (Davin) Halvorson, Arlo (Tina) Hagen, Rocky (Ardeene) Hagen, Deb (Jim) Hunt, Doug (Carol) Lauer, Mark (Mary) Lauer, Deb (Leo) Kill, Joan (Tim) Golden; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by grandmothers, Hennie Hagen and Bernadette Lauer; and uncle, Bill Lauer.

Tomas was a "spark" in the lives of all who met him.  He lived life to the fullest.  He was truly loved and will be dearly missed!
