Travis Cota, 23, died Friday, May 29, 2009 at MeritCare Northwest Campus, Thief River Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday, June 1, 2009 at St. Joseph Church, Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Red Lake Falls.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Sunday, May 31, 2009 at St. Joseph Church, Red Lake Falls, with a 7 PM prayer service and also for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Travis James Cota was born October 13, 1985 at Red Lake Falls, MN, the son of Alan and Kathy (Helm) Cota. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Church, Red Lake Falls. He attended school in Red Lake Falls and graduated in 2004. While in school he delivered meals on wheels.

Following graduation, he held various jobs in the area. He went to New Orleans, LA to help rebuild homes. Travis lived in Bemidji, MN and Fargo, ND for a short time and moved back to Red Lake Falls 2 years ago. He has lived there since.

Travis enjoyed collecting swords and dragons. He also had an interest in lizards. Spending time with his friends was his favorite thing to do. Travis also enjoyed fishing with his father.

He is survived by son, Hunter Cota, the mother of his son, Missi Soderlund, parents Alan Cota, Red Lake Falls, MN and Kathy (Lee) Wold, Red Lake Falls, MN, brother and sisters, Jenny (Mike) Black, Jess (Joe) Violette, Jessie Wold, Dustin (Michelle) Cota and Stephanie Wold; 2 nephews, Blake Cota and Dawson O Keefe, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Travis is preceded in death by grandparents, 2 aunts, 1 uncle, and good friend, Cory Rystad.
