Veronica Patricia Pat Dorn, 77, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 PM, Monday, March 12, 2007 at St. Bernards Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Monsignor Timothy McGee and John Eisbrener, Deacon, presiding. Burial will be at St. Bernards Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
Visitation will be 2 " 5 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with a 5 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to service at the church, Monday.
Veronica Patricia Mullen was born August 16, 1929 at Fordville, ND, to James and Florence (Perry) Mullen. She lived there until they moved to Thief River Falls in 1930. She attended St. Bernards School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947.
Pat married Alan Thompson, December 10, 1948 in Thief River Falls, MN. She was employed by Judge Chommie as secretary and performed duties as Clerk of Municipal Court. She later was employed by the Thief River Falls Police Department as secretary to the Chief of Police and Head of Records until 1993, when she retired after 42 years of service. Alan died on January 20, 1991. She married Tony Dorn, December 26, 1993 and has continued to live in Thief River Falls.
Pat was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, where she was very active and a member of the Peace Officers Association. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin at Lake of the Woods and traveling.
She is survived by husband, Tony, Thief River Falls, MN; her son, Michael (Susan) Thompson in Stockbridge, GA formerly of Grand Forks, ND; and her daughter, Sandra Carlson of Grand Forks, ND. Grandchildren, Doug and Marli Carlson of Negaunee, MI; Michelle and Steve Clark of Coon Rapids, MN; Shawn Carlson of St. Louis Park, MN; Ryan Carlson and Kimberly Carlson, both of Grand Forks, ND; her stepchildren, Kay (Buzz) Marvin of West Fargo, ND and their children, Kelly (Joe) Biondi, Duluth, MN and Jamie (Troy) Mattern, Fargo, ND; Lynn Dorn of Fargo, ND and Tony (Connie) Dorn and their children, Tony Dorn III and Alie Dorn all of Thief River Falls, MN; along with 8 great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
Pat is preceded in death by husband, Alan on January 20, 1991; parents; brother, Paul Mullen; sisters, Eunice Michalsky and Harriet Baker and son-in-law, Allan Carlson.
