Vincent Bernard Hesse, 81, died on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Thief River Falls Care Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 11 AM at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN, following the funeral service.

On June 24, 1941, Vincent was born to Clarence and Bertha (Schaack) Hesse, Thief River Falls, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church and attended school here in Thief River Falls, MN. Vincent attended school until 8th grade, then began working to assist his family.

On September 6, 1963, Vincent married Gloria Helgeland in Thief River Falls, MN. They made their home in Climax, MN, for a short time, then moved to California, where their two sons, Vincent Jr. and Scott, were born. In 1965 the family returned to make their home in Thief River Falls, where they continued to reside. Vincent worked at Arctic Cat from 1965 to 2003, working his way to Foreman. He retired in 2003 to take care of his wife. Vincent was truly dedicated to loving Gloria in both good and bad times. He put her first in everything he did and treated her like a queen.  Gloria passed away in 2015, and Vincent truly missed her.

Vincent enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and calling his grandchildren and others "Dirty Pig Suckers" if they beat him playing games. Family was very important to him, and he loved doing anything with the family. Going to car shows, where he met friends, this also a time to reflect on the old cars he owned. When he was younger, fishing and camping with the family was fun.

Survivors include his sons, Vincent J. (Doretta) Hesse and Scott (Kristina) Hesse, all of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Nathan (Kaitlin) Hesse, Ashley Hesse, Pascale (Bud) Nelson, Todd Hesse, and Vincent (Bekah) Hesse III; great-grandchildren, Beau and Charley Nelson; Aiden Haugen, Tucker Hesse, and Piper Hesse; brothers- Joe Hesse, John (Pat) Hesse, and Jerry (Connie) Hesse; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Gloria Hesse; mother and father, Clarence and Bertha Hesse; sisters, Rosanne (Andy) Holen, Joanne (Ed) Quam, and Betty Hesse; and brother, Dwayne (Dorothy) Hesse.
