Violet Kulvik, 63, of Thief River Falls, MN died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at her residence in Thief River Falls, MN surrounded by her loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Violet Kay Ng was born on June 25, 1955 in Sioux City, IA the daughter of Shar Fook and Elizabeth (Sharpback Tebo) Ng.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Winnebago, NE.  Violet attended Grant Elementary in Sioux City, IA, then St. Augustine Catholic School in Winnebago, NE and St. Paul High School in Marty, SD.

In 1972 while cruising "the loop" in Sioux City Violet met her future husband Albert Kulvik and they were married at 7:00 PM on December 14, 1973 in Sioux City.  To this union three children were born Christina, Patty and Al Jr.  The family lived in Sioux City until 1979 when they moved to Viking, MN and in 1991 moved to Thief River Falls where they have continued to reside.

Violet worked at the T-59 Motel, Shooting Star Casino, Northern Pride and for the last 15 years was trucking with Al.

Violet's life revolved around spending time with her family whether it be cooking, kids programs, shopping, playing bingo, watching movies or playing at the casino.  She wore her heart on her sleeve, was always worried about her family and dearly treasured her family.  Violet can be described as fun, compassionate, dependable, protective, loving caregiver & Sassy Sweetness!

Violet & Al shared the wonderful experience of traveling to all 50 states, parts of Mexico and cruising in the Western Caribbean.  Her favorite place to visit was Las Vegas where she was fascinated by the lights, architecture, atmosphere and shows.  Violet also cherished time traveling to South Dakota and Iowa to visit family.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years Al of Thief River Falls; children Christina (David) Lee of Thief River Falls, Patty (Darren) Rabine of Sioux Falls, SD and Al (Tina) Kulvik Jr.; grandchildren  Liz, Cassie, Nick, Wyatt, Jacob, Amiaha, Tilly, Sammi, Adam & Luke; great-grandchildren Jaelynn, Alana, Colten & Gabriel; sisters Shirley (Hubert) Kulvik and Patty (Wayne) Albert all of Sioux City, IA; and many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; father & mother-in-law Hubert & Lorraine Kulvik; brothers Conrad, Anthony, Patrick & Baby Boy; sister Marie Ann; sister-in-law Dixie (Noel) Morton; and one nephew Nick Madden.
