Obituary

Violet Willenburg, 75, died on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Medical Center of Lewisville, Lewisville, Texas.

Violet L. Carlson was born on January 7, 1920 on the original Carlson Homestead in Emardville Township, the first child of Carlson S. and Eda E. (Arlt) Carlson. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Redeemer church in Plummer, MN. She attended Red Lake County Public School District # 3-Hawthorne. During World War II, Violet stayed at home to help out on the family farm. After 1945, Violet moved to Minneapolis as a nanny and housekeeper. During the early fifties, she worked for Homewood Hospital in Minneapolis. On April 5, 1953, she married Warren Willenburg in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Plummer, MN. In 1954, Violet moved to Kansas City, MO, with her husband where they built a home and raised two children. She was active in many church activities including teaching Sunday School for many years. In 1973, Violet moved with her family to Lewisville, TX.

Violet was a loving mother and especially enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and raising a family. Violet did volunteer work at Denton State School in Denton, TX. She was a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church, Flower Mound, TX.

Violet is survived by her husband, Warren, Lewisville, TX. She is also survived by daughter, Susan and son, Mark, both Lewisville, TX; sister, Jane (Gerry) Robbins, Pine City, MN and brother, Merlin (Judy) Carlson, Red Lake Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, one aunt, one brother, one sister-in-law and one niece.
