Virginia Lee Martinez passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Reading Hospital in Reading, PA, at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 30 days. Born on September 1,1943, in Killeen, TX, to Frank and Isabelle (Seeger) Knott. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and attended Washington Elementary and Lafayette Secondary School in Red Lake Falls, MN. Virginia was known for her kind heart and her deep love for her grandchildren.

Virginia began her nursing career in Minneapolis, MN, and later settled in Colorado, where she dedicated the majority of her professional life. She obtained her Registered Nursing Diploma from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Grand Forks, ND. Virginia was married to Joseph Anthony Martinez on July 10, 1971, and they resided in Northern CO, throughout the majority of her life, she lived in various states, including MT, WA, and eventually settled in Thief River Falls, MN.

She is survived by her son James and daughter-in-law Jolie (Yeary) Martinez of Gilbertsville, PA, and her beloved grandchildren Trent, Cyenna, and Riley. Virginia is also survived by her three brothers, Frank, Gerald, and Richard, and three sisters, Beverly, Selma, and Donna, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and her parents, Frank and Isabelle.

Virginia cherished moments of travel with her family and adored spending time with her grandchildren. She found joy in the company of her siblings, and had a passion for baking, crocheting, and quilting. Virginia will be remembered for her loving nature and the impact she had on those around her. May her memory be blessed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 20, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Burial will follow the services at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.
