Vivian "Vi" Olson age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN with Reverend Ollie Urdahl Officiating. Burial will be held at Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Vivian "Vi" (Peterson) Olson was born December 4, 1935 in Thief River Falls, MN daughter of Herman and Thea (Johnson) Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN. She attended grade school in Holt and High School in Newfolden, MN graduating in 1953.

She was united in marriage to Keith L. Olson in Holt, MN on June 1, 1953.  They made their home in Thief River Falls for a few years before making their home in Holt, MN. She worked as a teacher's aide with Head Start in Newfolden for a short time before starting her employment with Northern Pride for 25 years up until her retirement.

Vi loved feeding and watching the hummingbirds and feeding oranges and grape jelly to the Baltimore Orioles. She also loved going to play bingo with family and friends, but her main passion was drawing and painting pictures on mailboxes, saw blades and Christmas bulbs. Someone would give her a picture and she would try and tackle painting it onto whatever it was. She loved baking Christmas goodies including lefsa and other Norwegian treats and faithfully brought them to her children's place of work. Vi was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Thief River Falls, MN.

Vi is survived by her children Vickie (Bruce) Bjorgaard of Viking, MN, Terry Olson of Thief River Falls, MN, Suzan (Vincent) Larson of Viking, MN, Kathy Peterson of Thief River Falls, MN, Tammy Martin of Holt, MN, Donnie (Sue) Olson of Holt, MN, James (Marla Augustine) Olson of Holt, MN, Kelly (Darin) Stanley of Thief River Falls, MN, and Kim (Brian) Peterson of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren Holly Bjorgaard, Chad Olson, Jodi Olson, Heather Barber, Amy Petrovich, Maria McGeary, Mya Eidelbes, Shannan Martin, Shayne Martin, Jamie Martin, Beth Comstock, Nikki Olson, Jordan Olson, Samantha Cortez, Jacob Olson, Joseph Olson, Brady Stanley, Chelsey Stanley, and Lee Peterson; 27 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Joyce Schaub.

Vi is preceded in death by her husband Keith Olson, Parents Herman and Thea Peterson.
