Walter Czeh was born on June 10, 1910 to Peter Frank and Nellie Katherine (Deal) Czeh in Campbell, MN. At an early age the family moved to the Gatzke, MN area where Walter grew up and attended country school. He worked with his dad on the farm and cutting timber.
Walter was united in marriage to Linnea A. Westberg on January 12, 1934 in Middle River, MN. They made their home on the family farm in Rollis Township where Walter continued to farm, timber, and raise cattle. In August of 1947 they moved to the north edge of Thief River Falls. Walter continued to farm and also work at Peterson-Biddick, Philips Auto Wrecking, and at area lumber yards. He continued farming until the early 1970s.
Walter enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and gardening. He and his wife Linnea moved to Pioneer Court in Thief River Falls in October of 1997 and lived there until moving into the Greenbush Nursing Home in April of 2003.
Walter is survived by his wife of 69 ½ years Linnea, Greenbush, MN; five children: Lois (Harold) Anderson, Park River, ND; Wayne (Patricia), Roseau, MN; Bette (Wayne) Holmgren, Roseau, MN; Judy (Larry) Everson, Minneapolis, MN; Jeanne (David) Cloutier, Hudson, WI; one son in law DuWayn Thygeson, Thief River Falls, MN; 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, infant great grandson, and daughter Wenda Thygeson.
