Walter Wally H. Seeger, age 84 of Red Lake Falls, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2001 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at Bethany Lutheran Church of Red Lake Falls, with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery of Red Lake Falls. Rev. Gary Graff will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M. and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service all at the church.

Wally was born on May 15, 1917 in Red Lake Falls the son of Ernest and Lydia (Funte) Seeger. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and attended country school. On October 14, 1942 he was united in marriage to Marie Waldal of rural Plummer, MN. Wally farmed his entire life on the family farm in Red Lake Falls Township, up until his 84th birthday on May 15, 2001 when he suffered a stroke while driving his tractor. He also worked for American Crystal in Crookston for 24 years as a mechanic, retiring in 1980.

Wallys family, farm and faith were the 3 most important things in his life. If Wally wasnt farming he was talking about it. He was a charter member of Bethany Lutheran Church, which was formed in 1948; member of the mens group and served on the church council. Wally enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and 15 countries in Europe with Marie, deer hunting, liked spending time in the shop helping fix things and loved spending time with his family, especially following his grandkids activities.

Wally is survived by his wife Marie of Red Lake Falls; four children Kathleen Kaye Baluarte of Philadelphia, Michael (Cheryl), Steve (Carol), Bradley (Special friend Tricia Krabbenhoft) all of Red Lake Falls. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Michael (Erlaine) of Santa Barbara, CA; sister, Clara Lantz of Fallbrook, CA; sister-in-law, Lois Seeger of Van Nuys, CA; several nieces and nephews; and Maries sisters and brothers and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Reinhart and Alvin.
