Warren Larson, 72, died on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Greg Schram officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 6:00 PM prayer service on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Warren Eugean Larson was born on August 30, 1940 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Bertram and Alyce (Overvold) Larson. He was baptized into the Christian faith and confirmed at the Mission Covenant Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Warren attended Knox Elementary School and Lincoln High School with the class of 1959. Warren entered into service with the United States Marine Corps and served from 1959 until being Honorably Discharged in 1963. He served in many places around the world including the Philippines, Japan, Hawaii, and Guam. Following his discharge, Warren settled in Maryland where he worked at Connelly Containers. There he married Brenda Horner and to this union a daughter, Kimberly was born. He later married Carolyn Todd and to this union a son, Eric was born. In 1968, Warren returned to live in Thief River Falls and went to work for Border Drug, which eventually became Somody Supply. He worked there in sales for the next 25 years. Warren then went to work at the ODC for the next 15 years and also worked part time with Riverwood Group Home. On December 12, 1974, Warren was united in marriage to Sharon Walhaug in Sisseton, SD and reaffirmed their vows with their family and friends present on December 14, 1974 at Salem Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, MN. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls and to this union two children were born, Brandi and Trevor. In his earlier years, Warren enjoyed spending time at deer camp and camping with family. He enjoyed reading, watching movies, coaching Special Olympics bowling, and had the gift of gabhe could visit with anyone. His passion was old cars. Warren was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls; and he was a member of the original Street Wizards and Prairie Schooners, and was currently a member of the Street Wizards. Survivors include his wife Sharon of Thief River Falls; children, Kimberly (Donnie) Towle of Thief River Falls, Brandi Larson of Red Lake Falls, MN and Trevor Larson of Holt, MN; grandchildren, Brady Larson, Landon Jarshaw, Karina, Cody & Brayden Towle; sisters, Carole Knapp of Dallas, TX and Beverly (Bill) Ooley of Darwin, MN; sister-in-law, Carol (Richard) Clark; brother-in-law, Wayne Walhaug; special friend, Trevor Jarshaw and his son, Levi; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda; infant son, Eric; brother-in-law, Joe Knapp and Eddie Mattison; sister-in-law, Shirley (Gary) Rux.
