Wayne Larson, 65, of Viking, MN, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral Service for Wayne will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN, with Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday, November 23, 2018 at New Hope Lutheran Church, Newfolden, MN.  Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church.

Wayne Andrew Larson was born on October 18, 1953 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Lester and Carolyn (Mutnansky) Larson.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.  He attended Viking Elementary School and graduated from Newfolden High School with the class of 1971.

The summer he graduated, Wayne helped rebuild the Newfolden Co-op Elevator.  He later worked at Land-O-Lakes for a couple of years before going to work in Drayton, ND at American Crystal in 1978.  All the while Wayne farmed with his dad and brothers, Eugene and Dwight.  He also owned and operated his own backhoe service and helped Dwight with the honey bees.

Wayne enjoyed hunting, shooting, fishing, 4-wheeling, playing cards, snowmobiling, visiting nieces & nephews and riding around in his car.  He was a shy, witty, reserved man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Wayne lived on the family farm in Viking Township his entire life.

Survivors include siblings, Renae Timm of Newfolden, MN, Vincent (Suzan) Larson of Viking, Eugene Larson of Viking, Cheryl (Murray) Engelstad of Thief River Falls and Dorene Myers of Viking; numerous nieces & nephews; great-nieces & nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brothers, Dwight & Keith; brothers-in-law, Ron Timm & Dwayne Myers.
