William Bill George Demarais, 82 of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Wednesday, September 29, 1999 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 2, 1999 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Gentilly, MN.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 Prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
William Bill George Demarais was born May 23, 1917 in Gentilly Township, Polk County, MN near Red Lake Falls, son of the late John B. and Justina (Trudeau) Demarais. He was raised and attended rural school near his home. Bill was Baptized and Confirmed at St. Peter Catholic Church in Gentilly. On November 4, 1937 he was united in marriage to Lucille Vaudrin at St. Peter Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN. The couple lived and farmed in Gentilly Township all of their lives. In 1980 they retired and moved into Red Lake Falls and since February of 1999 Bill has resided at the Hillcrest Nursing Home.
Bill was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, he was an active member of the NFO. He enjoyed watching his grand children play hockey and was named Official Hockey Grandpa . His favorite pastimes were playing cards and watching all kinds of hockey games.
He is survived by his wife Lucille Demarais of Red Lake Falls, MN: daughters Deloria Dee Greskowiak of St. Paul, MN; Luella (Duane) Greskowiak of Anoka, MN; Janet (Hank) Knott of Monticello, MN; Theresa (Rick) Ricketts of Red Lake Falls, MN; Audrey (Dennis) Roy of Dilworth, MN; Celeste (Thomas) Morris of Crookston, MN and Jeaneanne Demarais of Missoula, MT: sons James (Christine) Demarais of Red Lake Falls, MN; Roman (Pauline) Demarais of Bloomington, MN and Vern (Marlys) Demarais of Crookston, MN. 34 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Sisters Alice (Harvey) Bombardier of San Pablo, CA; Mae Theroux of Red Lake Falls, MN and Irene Philion (Lloyd) of Red Lake Falls, MN.
He is preceded in death by two daughters Margaret Audette and Cynthia Demarais. Six sisters Laura Baril, Lucille Snyder, Marie Page, Virginia Houle, Eva Houle and Delia Bombardier and one brother John Demarais.
