Obituary

Staff Sergeant William Chad Haugan, 23, died on October 14, 2008 at Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 20, 2008 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Gary Graff officiating. Burial will be in Opdahl Cemetery, Newfolden, MN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service on Sunday evening, and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Staff Sergeant William Chad Haugan was born on October 30, 1984 in Bemidji, MN, the son of Charles and Rhonda (Bach) Haugan. He was baptized at Oak Ridge Lutheran Church and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church. He attended school in Thief River Falls and Red Lake Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 2003. William joined the United States Air Force right after graduation. William trained in Aircraft Electronics and was stationed at Hurlbert Field Air Force Base at Fort Walton Beach, FL, where he advanced to Staff Sergeant. He also served temporary duty in Afghanistan and several other countries.

He enjoyed hunting and working with computers.

William is survived by his father, Charles Haugan of Becida, MN; his mother, Rhonda Bach of Red Lake Falls, MN; his twin brother, Lucus Haugan of Cheyenne, WY; grandparents: Glenn and Lois Haugan of Becida, MN and Alfreda Bach of Thief River Falls, MN; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jens K. Bach.
