William "Bill" Charles Holmes, 60, of Thief River Falls, MN, died at his home on Monday, March 7, 2022.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 PM with a Prayer Service at 6 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Father Rick Lambert will preside.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN, on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 10 AM.

On November 25, 1961, Bill was born at Oneida, NY, to Mary Spotts. At the age of 4, the family moved to Minnesota. Bill attended St. Hilaire Grade School, Franklin Middle School, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, in 1980. He played tennis and hockey in high school.  Following High School, Bill studied at UND in Grand Forks, ND where he played tennis during his first year.

Bill was an avid sports fan and was always a Twins and Vikings fan. He enjoyed fishing with his uncle. Bill always made time for his children and parents. He was a member of the St. Bernard's Catholic Church.

Bill worked in Arizona following college for a few years after college. He was united in marriage to Lourdes Hernandez in Arizona; they were blessed with Christopher and Ariana. For 27 years, Bill worked for Spee-Dee Delivery Service in Thief River Falls, and Digi Key for the past two years.

Bill is survived by his children, Christopher Holmes and Ariana Holmes; his parents, Gus and Mary Holmes, Thief River Falls, MN, sister, Cathy (Bob) Hoggard, brother, Kent (Jenny) Holmes and brother, Kevin Holmes; nephew, Tanner (Kourtni) Holmes; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is now with his Grandma Sig, Grandma Mary, his favorite aunt Barb, and her sons Gerald and Sam.
