William "Bill" Walsh 75, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Riverview Health in Crookston, MN. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bill DeCrans Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN. Visitation will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls, MN from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayer service at 7:00 PM and also one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday. William Patrick Walsh "Bill" was born October 20, 1938 at Crookston, MN son of William O'Brian and Luella May (Connelly) Walsh. He was raised near Crookston, MN and attended school at the Cathedral in Crookston and Graduated from Central High School in 1959. He entered the US Army in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1962. He served 21 years in the MN and ND National Guard. On December 15, 1962 he was united in marriage to Mary E. Friebohle at the Cathedral in Crookston, MN. The couple lived in Crookston where Bill drove cab. The couple moved to Red Lake Falls, MN in 1967 where he worked at Detroiter (Homark) for 20 years and was employed at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls, MN. Bill enjoyed horses, visiting with people, spending time cutting wood, most of all he enjoyed the time spent with family and friends. He was a member of the Red Lake Falls American Legion, Knights of Columbus, 40 et 8 and was a member of the MMCDC for 20 years and active delegate with the DFL. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Mary Walsh of Red Lake Falls, MN; children Bridget Walsh of Grand Forks, ND, Loretta Villanueva of Grand Forks, ND, Lorelei Skoro of Red Lake Falls, MN, William O. (Julie) Walsh of Thief River Falls, MN, Brendan (Leigh Ellen) Walsh of Atlanta, GA, Sean Walsh of St. Michael, MN, Morgan (Darci) Walsh of East Grand Forks, MN; 17 grandchildren John, Tasha, Byron, Ben, William P., Whitney, Haley, Brice, Heather, Lauren, Ian, Kylee, Reagan, Madison, Chris, Noah, Torin and great-grandchildren Blake and Braylin. Siblings Ella (George) Hurt of Venita, OK, Jim (Terry) Walsh of Halma, MN, Carol Meine of Crookston, MN, Peggy (Bob) Mantei of Fairbanks, AK, Patrick (Linda) Walsh of Council Bluffs, IA, Catherine (Linus) Desrosier of Gentilly, MN, Theresa (John) Hagl of Red Lake Falls, MN. Sisters-in-law Sue Walsh and Jeanette Scherfenberg along with many nieces and nephews. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Kal Walsh and John Walsh; brother-in-law Willard Meine.
