Wilma Huotari, 89, of Plummer, MN died on Thursday, October 05, 2000 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center at Erskine, MN. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2000 at 2:00 PM in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN with Reverend Robert Paulson Officiating. Burial will be held in the Finnish Cemetery near Plummer, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church only.

Wilma Erica Eskeli was born April 9, 1911 at Ironwood, Michigan daughter of the late Nick and Ilmi (Marttila) Eskeli. She moved to Plummer with her family in 1912 where she was raised and attended the Finnish School. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. On November 9, 1935 she was united in marriage to Tom Huotari at Plummer, MN. The couple made their home in Garnes Township East of Plummer where they lived and farmed until 1990 when they moved into Plummer. Wilma has resided at the pioneer Memorial Care Center since August 11, 1997. Tom Passed way December 29, 1997.
She loved gardening and flowers and was an excellent cook. She was a member of the homemakers club and enjoyed crocheting. Wilma was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the ladies aid in Plummer.
Wilma is survived by her daughter-in-law Lorna (Merle) Jesme of Plummer, MN; grandchildren DeeAnn Egeland (Jon) and children Jorey, Jonnie and Jamison of Billings, MT; Cynthia Nielsen (Eric) and children Taylor and Brett of Westby, MT; Neil Huotari (Laurie) of Inver Grove Heights, MN and Bryce Huotari of Grand Forks, ND. Sister Helen Fremling of Red Lake Falls, MN; brothers Leonard Eskeli of New York Mills, MN, Edward Eskeli of Plummer, MN and Melvin Eskeli (Rosemary) of Plummer, MN and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, son Russell, sister Aini Eskeli, brothers Woodrow Eskeli, Leo Eskeli and Martin Eskeli.
